At the age of 13 Rikky Baby would move to Toronto where his interest in music would begin one year later. Being one of 9 children raised by a single mother as well as being the only one that stood apart he would find himself lonely at times. When there was no one to talk he would connect himself with music in a spiritual and emotional way just singing about his life. He quickly learned the best way for him to express himself would be behind the microphone. This is why you can catch Rikky singing his own songs in the shower.

Who inspired you to make music?

My older brother was involved in the music industry and growing up watching him was what inspired me primarily.

How would you describe the music that you typically create?

My musical style is a combination of different genres being intertwined into one. My music is primarily for the female crowed and intertwine soul, r&b, Hip hop, trap and some dancehall to create different vibe

What is your creative process like?

Emotions, feelings, music is not something to be forced it needs to drag you whether it's by emotions or feelings.

What is one message you would give to your fans?

There is no limit in believing in yourself; anything is possible if you put your heart and mind into it you can achieve greatness. You need to believe in yourself first and then others will believe in you also.

What would you be doing right now, if it wasn’t for your music career?

Boxing

Where have you performed? What are your favorite and least favorite venues?

Some of the places I have performed are Coast2Coast, Afro Wave, Taste of the 6ix. I do not have a favorite venue as I am thankful for all the opportunities that come my way.

How do you feel the Internet has impacted the music business?

The internet plays a huge role in the music industry nowadays. Unfortunately talent is not the leading cause of artists making it in the industry; it's more about "clout".

Which famous musicians do you admire?

Rick Ross

What is the best advice you’ve been given?

The best advice I have been given is to never doubt myself or stop believing.

If you could change anything about the industry, what would it be?

If there was one thing I could change about the industry it would be to ensure that real talented artists get heard regardless of their amount of likes and followers.

What’s next for you?

Good question; next for me is to continue pushing and get my music played to as many people to hear. ME BLOWING UP!
